Top 3 Destinations In The Philippines by Joie Charles

The Philippines is an archipelago, having 7, 107 islands, and is abundant in nature, warm people, natural wonders, and filled with pleasant discoveries. Philippines is now considered as one of the top destination in the world, having 1.5 million foreign tourist arrivals for the first semester this year.
With hundreds of destinations in the country, the top 3 on my list are the following:

1. Boracay

Boracay is located in the northwest corner of Panay Island that belongs to the Visayas island group of central Philippines in the Pacific. It is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations, and now, became an international destination too. The White Beach and Bulabog Beach are just the two primary tourism beaches, which are located on opposite sides of the island.

Aside from taking dip of the crystal blue water, you can also take a boat around the island, hire a motorbike or scooter to explore the place, or go horse back riding, and experience the native villages and sceneries that usual visitors don't do.

And, did I tell you that Boracay has one of the most beautiful sunsets? Well, you don't surely want to miss it. And, the fun doesn't end there yet, since Boracay nightlife is pulsating with so many bars and restaurants around that will give you fun until dawn.

2. Bohol

Located in the Central Visayas region, Bohol is the home of hospitable and warm people. Boholanos, as what the natives are called, are very proud of the natural wonders that are bestowed in the island. To name a few, it is the home of the famous Chocolate Hills! Imagine seeing no less than 1268 hills, that are uniform in shape and will turn chocolate brown during summer, and from which the name was derived. You can also see the Tarsiers, one of the smallest known primates and be amazed when they turned their heads by 180 degrees.

Bohol is also blessed with a numerous white sand beaches, and Panglao Island is one of the famous destinations, having powdery sand. It has a large number of top class diving sites, which both foreign and local divers would consider it as diver's haven.

3. Palawan

Palawan is located in the Western Visayas Region and the islands stretches from Mindoro to Borneo in the southwest. The place is for adventure seekers and nature lovers and its famous for its marine sanctuaries, white sand beaches, and exotic wildlife.

One of the "a-must-see" in Palawan is the Tabon Cave. It is a 138-hectares, of rugged cliffs and deep slopes. Because of its importance to Philippine History and heritage, the site was declared a Museum Reservation Site by virtue by the Philippine Government.

Another is the El Nido marine reserve. The scenic landscapes, crystal clear waters and the isolation from the big crowd of the city usually attracts and fascinates the travelers of the place. Kayaking, snorkeling, diving, hiking to the peak of the island, bird watching, sunbathing in a white beach are just some of the activities you can enjoy.
There are still a lot of things that Philippines offers, and it's just there, waiting to be discovered. So, travel in the Philippines now!

10 Ways To Fix Spoiled Family Trips by E Cho

1) Have a family meeting to decide where you will go. Try to pick a destination which offers something for everyone from Dad who only wants to lie in a hammock and drink something alcoholic while listening to the games of his favorite sports team; to the teenagers who want to be any where except where their parents are; to the toddlers who are more interested in the ground level attractions like insects and discarded chewing gum, than they are in any sort of scenery.

2) When you realize no such destination exists, draw straws. Shortest straw gets to spin the family globe while blindfolded and point to a destination. If it's in the middle of an ocean, the nearest land mass will do.

3) No matter how unlikely the selected destination is, come together in a family spirit of "making the best of it." Being a family, after all, means growing together as a family and a bit of planning will help overcome whatever challenges lie ahead.

4) If your fated destination decrees that you will be vacationing near relatives, insist on a visit to let the kids know where they came from. If the relatives happen to be considerably older, with a home full of treasured mementos from years gone by, even better. The toddlers will have plenty with which to entertain themselves, and the teens will have plenty to ask their elders about!

5) If your fated destination decrees that you all end up in a totally foreign part of the world, insist to the kids that it will be an educational experience they'll treasure for the rest of their lives. That is sure to have them dizzy with anticipation as they throw themselves into the task of planning what to see and do.

6) Plan each day's itinerary down to the second, because you don't want the kids to miss a minute their once-in-a-lifetime vacation experience. To make sure they are enjoying themselves to the fullest, see that the family stays together at all times, and thoroughly discusses the importance of what they've learned each evening.

7) Teach the kids to be savvy travelers by packing a minimum of clothes which they can wash as needed the hotel bathroom sink, or if you've managed to track down those distant relatives, wait until you get to their house and ask your hostess to do a batch of laundry.

8) If your family trip requires you to travel by car, let Dad set the pace. When he announces that everyone had better eat hearty and do his or her personal business before leaving home, because there will be no food or relief stops, explain to the children that the real family fun won't begin until you get to your destination. That's why Dad is in such a hurry.

9) Leave the cell phones at home, so that the teenagers won't spend all their time running up roaming charges talking to friends who aren't sharing their horizon-broadening vacation. It should be no problem figuring out what to do if the hotel phone service gets shut off for climactic or political reasons.

10) If the only camera your family has is a camera cell phone, bring it along, but keep it out of sight by restricting yourself to shooting photos either when none of your family is looking, or when all of them are asleep. Catching them in their unguarded moments is sure to make them love you forever.

Try a new country for a change by Leanne King

Sometimes when we move to a new country we do so under a temporary or working visa. After a while we fall in love with the country and the opportunites there for us but often we do not change the state of our visa requirements. A visa is, in short, just a right to be in a country for a period of time. The visa usually sets out those rights and terms of stay. Some countries allow you to extend your visa, others do not. More importantly, this is one part of your travel and lifestyle plans that you must keep up to date on. Ensure that you have familiarised yourself with all the relevant conditions of your visa, that you diarise any critically important dates and that you take the time to visit the local consulate and get up to date information on your visa. Unfortunately, it is all too easy to overlook these matters which can have dire consequences.

If you have moved to another country or are on an extended visa you might like to consider applying for permanent residency. Although this can be a difficult process, if you wish to live in a country, and after all you are still there aren't you you should obtain the benefits of being a permanent resident.

One of the main benefits of being a permanent resident is that you are entitled to the same rights and privileges generally as a citizen.
Whilst that does not sound very exciting it is in fact important. If you have the same legal rights as an ordinary citizen of that country you are entitled to be treated in the same way as such a citizen and have the same legal rights. Your legal rights are of utmost importance. Legal rights extend to all aspects of your life in particular your working conditions, your right to live in a country and your right to justice together with the presumption of innocence in Commonwealth legal systems.

In addition, by being a permanent resident you receive some social benefits including the right to enter and exit the country, social security and health benefits, the right to a public education and certain work related rigths.

Often people do not want to give up the association with the country of their birth and feel guilty if they apply for permanent residency. In Canada, for instance, there is no need for such concern as Canada does not require you to give up your birth country citizenship. In Canada you can hold duel citizenship so in effect you are a citizen of both countries.

Five Disney Vacation Secrets and Time-Saving Ideas by Jane Smith

Disney is the most magical place on Earth, but it can also be one of the most expensive. I've put together five tips to help maximize your time, money, and enjoyment while there.

1. Develop an itinerary before you go. Disney is extremely large and can be very overwhelming. Without a plan you will never get to see all the things that are important to you. Do a little research before you get there and develop an itinerary. This will allow you to make the most of your trip and not waste time unnecessarily.

2. What are the park hours ... really? Every Sunday and Thursday Disney offers "Extra Magic Hours" where specific parks either open early or stay open late. Make sure to figure out which parks these are for the days you are there in order to get the most bang for your buck. The only catch to this deal is that you must be a Disney Resort Guest in order to participate.

3. Kids get scared, be prepared. We all have such fond childhood memories of Mickey that it can be easy to forget how intimidating he can be. Prepare your kids by letting them know that you might meet Mickey and some of his friends. Show them pictures before you go, especially pictures of Mickey with other people so that they can get an idea of how big he will be. When you get there, try to first show them Mickey from afar. If they are afraid, DO NOT push them - instead, walk away and offer them reassurance. Scaring them unnecessarily will cast a shadow over the rest of your trip.

4. Do I really have to wait in that line?!?! It is common sense that the most popular rides will have long lines. But many people are unaware that they can sign up for a free FastPass that will allow them to bypass many of these lines. When you get to a FastPass ride, swipe your card and your place in line will be held. They will then give you a time to return, but in the mean time you can visit some of the less crowded attractions or rides.

5. Wear comfortable shoes!!! I know that this sounds like common sense, but so many people forget this one. Disney is a HUGE place and you will be doing a lot of walking so dress accordingly. Those red kitten-heeled pumps may look great with your dress, but two hours into your day you'll be moving at a snails pace because your feet are so uncomfortable. Instead, opt for a trusted pair of sneakers to help maximize comfort and mobility.

Follow these tips and you will be on your way to getting the most out of your Disney vacation. I hope you enjoy yourself and let your inner child run loose at Disney!

Exploration Before Your Travel Destination by Josh Mullen

Taking a cruise is not all about the destinations you reach, but you can enjoy much more of the trip if you also take a little time to appreciate getting to those destinations. There are so many things to do on ships these days that some cruises don't even have an exotic destination. They are simply cruises to nowhere, where you can just enjoy the offerings on the sailing vessel.

Years ago there were not too many things to do on board a cruise ship. You would bring a good book and wait until the ship delivered you to your first destination to explore. Now, they are floating entertainment venues that also offer lodging and transportation to your travel destination. These ships are accustomed to seeing thousands of tourists at a time and are chock full of activities and opportunities for everyone.

The larger cruise ships often have many more things than restaurants, lodging floors and swimming pools. Many also have their own shopping malls where you can find anything from beach wear to high end apparel and accessories to toys for the kids. They also are likely to have a number of spas and boutiques where you can pamper yourself and feel more like a movie star than a tourist, and relax away your voyage to your travel destination.

If you would prefer to be a little more active with your free time on board, there are quite a few ways you can pass the time. Most ships offer swimming pools and shuffleboard courts and larger ships will sometimes over racquetball courts, tennis courts, rock climbing walls, and maybe even a few bowling lanes to play on.

If you're a duffer and don't know if you can stay away from your golf clubs for the duration of a cruise, you may be able to combine the two. Many ships these days have driving ranges on board where you can practice your swing while the ship traverses the seas to your next travel destination.

For those who like the old time past times, such as reading a good book while enjoying the salty air, you can still do that as well. The benefit on today's ships is that if you forget to bring a good book with you, many of them have libraries, or a book store where you can find a good read.
When it comes to meals, even though cruise ships are prepared to feed thousands at each meal, they do not compromise on quality while they are cooking for large quantities of passengers. Many ships have master chefs who know their art, and create dining master pieces meal after meal for your enjoyment.

While you will likely enjoy the destinations you have selected for your cruise, you should always remember that there are plenty of ways to enjoy the trip to your exotic destination aboard the ship. You've paid your fare to be a passenger who is catered to aboard the vessel, why not take advantage of all the ship has to offer.

A Pampered Holiday At Sea by Ray J. Walberg

When the time has finally arrived to take off for your cruise, this may be a bit of a different experience from other types of trips you would need. Here are some of the things you can expect as you kick off the enjoyment of your cruise package.

While you may be used to self catering, it's time to get used to pampering. That is what is going to happen as you begin your cruise voyage. As soon as you arrive at the cruise terminal you will notice this. Instead of you being forced to drag your luggage all over the place, it usually is taken from you by porters for the cruise line. You may have to be a little patient so they can get to you, since a lot of passengers are usually arriving for their holiday at the same time and the terminal can be a very busy place. Just as you would at the airport, give yourself a lot of extra time to get to the cruise terminal and checked in.

When the porters get to you, they are going to quickly whisk your luggage away and put it on a luggage cart. While you may be a little worried it will not get on the ship, never fear. While airlines can lose luggage from time to time on flight transfers, the cruise line is the one taking care of your bags from start to finish, and the only place they are going is onto your ship. They will magically appear in your stateroom later in the day. It will take a while for them to sort all the luggage out once you get onboard, so be patient. If you want quicker service, it never hurts to tip the porter well, a $5 minimum tip is recommended.

Once your luggage is gone, you have to head into the terminal. This part of the process will remind you of being at the airport, because you will have to go through all the same security x-ray and metal detecting machines as you would at the airport, so once again, be patient. Just be responsible, and respectable and this will go well. Make sure you do not have any taboo items, such as alcohol. Most cruise lines do not allow you to bring alcohol aboard with you. This rule is not for a safety reason as much as it is likely so they can sell their alcohol, but you have to follow their rules.

Once you make it past security, you will be given a number and letter and sent into the Embarkation Lounge until the ship is ready for you. This is a great opportunity to start to meet other people who are going to be on the cruise with you. Many of them have likely sailed before and may be able to answer questions regarding what to expect on your cruising holiday.

Once aboard, find your stateroom, get to know the ship, and if you're at a loss for where you are or where you're going, you're likely to find a staff member somewhere nearby to point you in the right direction.
